Adobe Photoshop 2021 Tutorials
In the late 2020 release Photoshop 2021 offers many fun and exciting features available to creators that doesn’t require a whole lot pre-requisite knowledge. From the sky replacement, pattern preview, to the neural filters where you can age someone’s face or apply makeup from a model to another photo we have you covered.
How to get Adobe Photoshop 2021
Adobe has made the shift to offering cloud based software. What this mean’s is that you will need to pay a monthly fee to access their latest and greatest software. The $9.99 package gives you access to Adobe Photoshop 2021, Lightroom, and Adobespark (Similar to Canva). I’ve subscribed to the Adobe Creator Suite which gives me access to All the Adobe Programs from Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Adobe Acrobat and more. Some of them offer 2 or 3 months access to Adobe Photoshop.
Sky Replacement
I first saw the tutorial on Peter Mckinnon’s Youtube channel so credit to him for getting me back into Photoshop 2021. The sky replacement can be done in a minute simple open your photo with a sky and find sky replacement under the edit menu.
Pattern Preview
This feature allows you to visualize your own pattern within minutes (view->pattern preview) and the most important step is to add this as a pattern to your asset library under the patterns panel. I’ve used a screengrab from bokeh video of christmas lights to create a pattern. You can use this as a fill for shapes or apply it to your background.
Neural Filters
The neural filters will turn out to be one of the most entertaining features of Adobe Photoshop 2021. You can access it from the Filters Menu ->Neural Filters->Beta Filters. Most of the face changing features for changing your eye gaze, adding thicker hair, changing emotions, and changing age are found under Smart Portrait. You can also use other neural filters like makeup transfer to apply makeup from one person to another. You can see that all the neural filters are in beta and there are many more planned. Troubleshooting neural filters: For best results be sure to make sure your photo is cropped to focus on your subjects face, they are look directly towards the camera, and that the photo is bright enough.
